Photos of two additional paintings by Celia Bukoff
These paintings were photographed on a recent trip to Iowa--Aug 24 - 28, 2002.
The first painting depicted below is now owned by Liz Garst and contains a collage of local Coon Rapids, Iowa, scenes Celia thought were relevant for Liz (e.g., grade school, old Garst Store, Garst Seed Corn sign, and Liz's River House. The wooden frame for this picture is in the shape of Iowa and was cut out by Sam Bukoff. The second painting was "commissioned" by the Paul Scott family of Coon Rapids, Iowa. The Scotts are neighbors living down the street from Celia. The Scotts and their kids have been very helpful to Celia for many years...mowing the lawn, shoveling the driveway, helping her get the trash out, and many other kindnesses. The Scotts asked Celia to paint a picture for them, depicting their kids. This painting hangs in the Scott's living room. |
